A couple of weeks ago I had a student come all the way from Malta to take the recording skills course. One thing I think is overlooked, especially these days in the world of chops and 'shedding', is how to musically approach a recording session for a song or a piece of music (film / TV or library). We took several different real world scenarios from sight reading an advert to working with his own chart and taking direction from a producer.
